Compass: Free Spokane Youth Program Focused on Self-Worth, Emotional Wellness, Leadership, and Healthy Decision-Making

Helping Spokane Teens Build Self-Worth and Emotional Confidence

Compass is a small-group, discussion-based program designed to help teens explore their identity, boost self-esteem, and build stronger emotional awareness. Offered by Create Your Statement at no cost to Spokane-area schools and youth organizations, Compass equips young people with the tools they need to develop a strong inner compass—guiding them through relationships, challenges, and life decisions.

By encouraging self-reflection and connection, Compass creates a safe space where students can build resilience, speak openly, and grow into their best selves.

Why compass Matters

In a time when teens are facing immense pressure from school, social media, and relationships, Compass provides a grounding experience that emphasizes mental wellness, emotional literacy, and authentic connection. By strengthening internal confidence, students are more likely to avoid unhealthy relationships and lead with empathy and self-respect.

Empowered youth are more likely to stand up for themselves, make healthy choices, and build stronger futures.

What Educators & Teens Are Saying

“Create Your Statement’s programs are essential to help shine a light on dating abuse. I applaud Create Your Statement for taking a stand against dating abuse by spear heading programs in our community in awareness, prevention and leadership.”

Tommy Williams Jr M.Ed – President/CEO Operation Healthy Family

“I would encourage girls to go through the REDFLAG program and learn the signs of dating abuse so they donʼt go through what I did. I know now that I am a leader right where I am at and that I am priceless!”

Rashae W.

“I think a program like CONTROL would be helpful for guys like me to recognize that we can also get caught up in abusive relationships too. I have also seen some of my friends objectify girls and itʼs just not fair. CONTROL will help me and my friends avoid abusive relationships. Guys need to hold each other accountable for their behavior and recognize how important respect
in every relationship.”
